Originally from Nigeria, Ms. Obioha relocated to Los Angeles in 2001 to further her education. Prior to law school, she attended Pepperdine University and received her Bachelor of Arts in Interpersonal Communications, with a minor in Philosophy. While there, she played an active role in the International Students Club, holding numerous leadership positions over the course of four years.
Stephannie Obioha graduated from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, where she received her Juris Doctor in 2015. While in San Diego, she served as Co-President of the Student’s National Lawyers Guild and became certified as a Legal Observer. In 2013, Ms. Obioha completed an internship in Geneva, Switzerland, clerking for a non-governmental organization affiliated with the United Nations and focused on water sustainability. Her professional experience abroad also includes an internship in Accra, Ghana, where she was awarded a position as a legal clerk at a law firm operated by the Secretary to the President of Ghana.
Prior to joining the TLG family, Ms. Obioha provided legal defense representation to parents in Juvenile Dependency, where she amassed extensive knowledge in handling domestic disputes, domestic violence, restraining orders, and other child custody matters. As a practicing attorney, Ms. Obioha has dedicated a significant portion of her practice to non-profit matters involving women, children and family law. She maintains strong ties to her native country, presently volunteering on the board of a non-profit organization in Nigeria, focused on providing pro bono legal representation to women and children who are victims of civil distress.
Outside of her professional interests, Ms. Obioha is passionate about yoga, cooking, travel and the English Premier League’s Liverpool soccer team.
